DGP Spanish
Daily Grammar Practice is available for English-speaking students learning Spanish. According to M. Canale and M. Swain, the first area of communicative competence for learning a second language is grammatical competence. Research by C. ZhonggangGao shows that second language learners need to learn grammar to provide “general and systematic guidance on the structure and syntax” of the target language.
As with the English versions of Daily Grammar Practice, students learning Spanish work with a single sentence all week long, spending just a few minutes each day translating it, analyzing its grammatical structure, and using it to write a new sentence in the target language. These quick but meaningful activities supplement and support instruction by helping students to see how all grammatical concepts connect at the sentence level.
